A letter from the founder

Getting older doesn't mean your wardrobe has to lose its colour.

A personal note from Olivia on why lovely colours, interesting prints and a little personality belong in our everyday wardrobes.

A little colour can make an ordinary outfit feel much more like you.

There seems to be an unwritten rule that a woman's wardrobe should get quieter as the years go by.

Picture walking into a clothing shop. One side is full of cropped tops and trends meant for someone half her age. The other is all muted colours and shapeless designs. She looks from one rack to the other and wonders where the clothes for someone with her taste have gone.

She doesn't want to dress like a 25-year-old. But she hasn't stopped loving colour, a pretty floral or a print with a bit of life in it.

I think many of us recognise that feeling, and it's why I love finding colourful collared tops that sit somewhere in between. Easy to wear with your jeans.

And if beige and navy make you happy, wear them proudly. I'd only change the feeling that they're the only choice you're supposed to make.

Your style didn't go anywhere

Personal style doesn't disappear on a particular birthday.

Some of us love soft pastels. Some prefer rich blues. Some have always been drawn to florals, others to a clean geometric pattern or a bold mix of colours. None of that is wrong. It's about opening the wardrobe and choosing something because you love it, not because you feel you're supposed to wear it.

The small joy of wearing colour

Picture a Thursday morning. You're meeting a friend for lunch.

You put on your usual blue jeans. Then you reach for a top with a colourful botanical print, and when you catch your reflection on the way out, you smile.

You haven't changed your whole wardrobe. You've simply chosen something you like, and the outfit feels a little more personal.

The print brings the personality, the collar adds a little structure, and the jeans keep everything relaxed and familiar.

A little colour makes all the difference.

Which one would you reach for?

This is one of the things I enjoy most about choosing pieces for Daily Aussie. The designs aren't all trying to look the same.

If you love a lively print, there's the green botanical top: a vivid green background scattered with pink, coral, blue and cream flowers. The blue-and-white patchwork is quieter, a geometric mix of navy, white and light blue that's interesting without shouting. The black top with white flowers is a darker, more delicate choice. And the multicolour patchwork, with its yellows, purples, greens and reds, is for anyone who simply loves colour.

Different women will reach for different ones, and that's the whole point. Which one are you drawn to?

Four reasons these tops are worth a closer look

1A print that feels like you

Choosing a print is a simple way to show your own taste. Some women enjoy a bold pattern, others prefer something more understated. The collection has both, so you can browse until one stops you.

2An easy way to dress up your everyday jeans

Same jeans, different top. A colourful collared top brings visual interest to an outfit you already know, and the collar gives it a little structure.

3Something you'll enjoy reaching for

Coffee on a Tuesday. Lunch on a Saturday. A wander around the shops on a quiet afternoon. A top you really like is the one you find yourself reaching for.

Fabric can differ between styles, so please check the material details for the one you choose.

4Choose the details that matter to you

Look at the product photos, check the measurements and read the material details, then compare them with a top you already love.

Over coffee

You're at your usual café, a little early, when your friend arrives. She slides into the seat opposite, looks at you for a second and says, "That's a lovely print. Where did you find it?"

You laugh and tell her. Then the menus arrive and you're on to the serious business of what to order.

It's a small moment. It's just nice to be wearing something you picked yourself.

Why I choose colour

No two women have quite the same taste, and I love that. Some of you are drawn to a bright botanical print. Others reach for a subtle floral or a calm blue geometric design. A collection can hold all of them, so you choose the one that reflects you.

I've also always believed ordinary outfits deserve a little personality. A pair of jeans on a Tuesday is perfectly good, and it's even better with a top you're happy to see in the mirror.

We are currently running our 20th Anniversary Spring Sale, so it is a lovely time to find your favourite.
